Knitting for Olive Pure Silk is a soft, exclusive yarn made of pure bourette silk (raw silk). The yarn is produced from wild silk, which means that the pupae are collected after the caterpillars have hatched and become butterflies. In this way, you avoid exposing the pupae to extreme heat, which would mean that the larvae would die in the process.

Silk has heat-regulating properties, and is therefore a material that can be used all year round. Silk can absorb moisture equivalent to 30% of its weight without feeling damp and heavy, and the yarn is therefore very suitable for use in summer. At the same time, silk, like wool, is insulating and retains heat when it is cold.

The small butterfly on the banner indicates that the caterpillars are allowed to become butterflies.

The spinning mill follows ethical and environmentally correct procedures to create a yarn without harmful substances.
